Bengal Township Board Meeting February 10, 2010
Supervisor Eric Mohnke called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with all board members present. Also in attendance were Gregory Armbrustmacher, Assessor, Jack Enderle, Board of Commissioner, Joe Pulver, Managing Director of Road Commission and several residents of Bengal Township whose signatures are attached.
The Board members led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Marilyn Irrer moved, supported by Judith Huhn to accept the Agenda as typed. Motion carried.
Judith Huhn moved, supported by Arleita Schafer to accept the Minutes of January 13, 2010 as typed. Motion carried.
Arleita Schafer moved, supported by Stephen Mahoney to accept the Treasurer's report as presented. Motion carried.
Judith Huhn also reported that 83% of winter taxes are paid and 96% of summer taxes are paid. She also collected the Personal Property tax from Caterpillar.
Gregory Armbrustmacher, Assessor reported that the assessment rolls are ready.
Jack Enderle, Board of Commissioner gave a brief report about the happenings at the County level.
Townshp Hall update: Contract with Health Department in regards to the septice system for ten years and inspected every other year. Stephen Mahoney brought up working with Kentwood Office Supply in regards to furniture; Marilyn Irrer will be looking into that. Judith Huhn moved, supported by Stephen Mahoney to Motz Development the balance and sign the settlement statement in the amount of $18036.96 upon walk thru by the Board members. Motion carried. We will run an ad in the Clinton County News and St. Johns Reminder for two weeks in regards to the old town hall being for sale.
The newsletter will be printed for Gregory Armburstmacher to send out with the assessment notices.
Marilyn Irrer moved, supported by Eric Mohnke that the CD#6600100678 that is due on February 21, 2010 for the amount of $112,489.98 be put in the General Fund Savings Account #6700063644. Motion carried.
Joe Pulver, Managing Director of the Clinton County Road Commission spoke about the roads, revenue for funding the roads. Our Township meets with Road Commission on March 22, 2010 at 1:30pm that is our annual meeting.
Judith Huhn moved, supported by Marilyn Irrer to pay all outstanding bills up to February 10, 2010 in the amount of $12,745.94. Motion carried.
Marilyn Irrer moved, supported by Judith Huhn to approve the Clinton Area Ambulance Service Authority Capital Expenditures Budget for 2010. Motion carried.
Budget-Discussion on salaries was brought up $500 for each board member. It was also brought up that the Supervisor receives a $1,000.00. No action at this time.
Eric Mohnke spoke about the letter from the Sheriff Department in regards to Tri-County wanting a donation from our Township. Eric Mohnke also spoke about the Planning and Zoning meeting that he attended last month. Stephen Mahoney spoke about the Michigan Township Association conference that he attended in January that was held in Grand Rapids.
Arleita Schafer moved, supported by Judith Huhn to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
